Trip to the northwest, Sandpoint, Idaho and Seattle,Washington

We also went up to Everett, north of Seattle, to visit with another cousin, Alice, youngest sister of Marjie. While there, we went to the Cypress Lawn Cemetery where Grandma Archer is buried. It didn't rain on us there, for which I was grateful. Alice works at the hospital in Everett and we had lunch with her there, no picture :( of Alice, my camera was in the car.

Sort of a dark picture, but it was raining. We drove through the Arboretum(sp?) on the campus of the University of Washington. I hope that is right. It was absoluetly gorgeous and the rain made it so lush and green. These trees just covered the road like a canopy.

The cousins that hadn't seen each other for some time. Marjie is my Dad's youngest sister's oldest child and I am my Dad's oldest child. It was fun to get together with her and visit. It rained most of the time we were in the Seattle area.

This is the Columbia River. Our next event was a three day trip over to Seattle, Washington, to visit with my cousins. We enjoyed the drive and more beautiful country. We crossed the bridge in the background, over to Vantage, Washington and visited the Ginkgo Petrified Forest there.

The night of the open house was also Prom night for Sandpoint High School, so after this picture was taken, we didn't see much of Morgan until the next day. She had a great time. She went with Jacob and boy in their Sandpoint Ward.

The first event of our trip north was the open house for Sarah's and Morgan's cousin, Alijandra (Miller) Lanenga. Andrew (Drew) is from Orlando, Florida and they were married there on 22 May 2008. The open house was held on the deck of the Miller home in Sandpoint, Idaho. It is so beautiful up in that part of Idaho. This is the happy couple if you haven't guessed.

Memorial Day 2008-Moroni Cemetery

Martha Robinson Blackham is the one that came from England and started all of the Blackhams in Utah. Ashlyn took the 'trek' with her Dad and Grandpa to all the ancestors in the Moroni Cemetery.

This is a picture of Ashlyn at her great-grandparents grave. We have pictures of our kids and our older grandkids like this, so we had to have one of Ashlyn, too.

Sam and Ashlyn went with Sam and I to Moroni this year. Ashlyn had prepared a lunch and brought it with her, when we got to the cemetery and were putting out flowers on Sam parents grave, Ashlyn took her lunch bag, found a comfy spot and had lunch. It was so cute and fun.

Memorial weekend 2008-Draper, Utah

These pictures were taken at the Draper City Cemetery on 26th of May. Dad and Virginia's headstone with Bob and Diane; with David, Sybelle and Bob. I don't know where Sam was while we were taking these pictures, but he isn't in any of them.

Mex-Reunion

Sam and I went to a Mexican Missionary Reunion last night. (Fri.) We had a great time, but Sam had an even greater time than I did. Here he is pictured with one of the missionaries that served in the mission. Elder Juan Becerra and his wife Celia. He is now a counselor to former missionary,Elder Ned Rouche, who is currently President of the Mexico City Temple. Elder Boise in the background with the hat on.

Sarah is a PHI ETA SIGMA

This evening, Belle and I attended a banquet at BYU with our granddaughter, Sarah, at which she was inducted into the National Honor Society of PHI ETA SIGMA, which is for freshman students in the top 20% of their class. It was a very enjoyable evening at which 362 BYU freshman were welcomed into this society.

It has been a joy to have Sarah here at BYU this past year. She has enjoyed school and has done very well in her classes. We are very proud of her.

A fun Saturday- 15 March 2008

We left home for a fun afternoon and evening in the 'big' city of Salt Lake. We (Sam and I) met my brother Bob and Diane to hang out together. We were doing a lot of hanging out together while we were clearing Dad and Virginia's house in Draper, since that was completed, we haven't seen each other as much, so we planned this time together. We had a GREAT time, even had a walk in the snow at the end of it all. Will it ever stop snowing?
Anyway, we saw a little bit of the LDS Museum of Church History and Art, then walked over to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and watched the latest film, "Joseph Smith, the Prophet of the Restoration" and after that we went upstairs to 'The Garden' Resturant and had a wonderful dinner and topped it off with some gooey desserts. We had such a good time together, we plan to do it more often.
WOW!, I will post this, but just realized the pictures are still on the camera, so you will get those later. It is my age, I think!! I did have my camera with me, amazing.
